Most Unique Views of Las Vegas
The sights and sounds of Las Vegas are completely unique. You can travel the world and never experience anything like it. That’s one of the reasons why you see so many people walking up and down the Strip snappin’ shots. But that’s not the only way to capture a “like” worthy pic. So charge up your batteries and ditch the crowds, because here are the five best ways to capture the most unique views that Sin City has to offer.
A helicopter ride
To get the most unique (and probably most memorable) perspective of the Las Vegas Strip, you’re going to have to fly above it. The Vegas Nights and City Lights are Las Vegas helicopter tours and probably our favorite way to experience the Strip. After getting to the airport (FYI: certain tours will even pick you up in a limo) your helicopter will cruise all the way from the Strip’s south end to downtown Las Vegas and back. There’s no better way to see Las Vegas Blvd, and if you go on the hour, you can get a bird’s eye view of the Bellagio Fountain show. Side note: if you have a weak stomach, no worries, they have barf bags onboard.
From a nice bar or restaurant
This might sound pretty obvious, but most of the Strip’s best restaurants, bars and nightclubs have killer views. And why would you not want to grab a bite to eat while taking in that view? Probably the most popular viewing spot on the south end of the Strip is The Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. Mid-Strip, you’ll have to get your party on at Voodoo Rooftop Nightclub at the Rio. The Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas is a solid choice as well. But if you’re on the north end of the Strip, it doesn’t get any better than Top of the World at the Stratosphere. It’s the tallest building in Vegas and slowly rotates 360 degrees to give you a full view of the city.
With a suite view
If you didn’t already know, Las Vegas is home to some ridiculously over-the-top suites. If you can get into the Sky Villa at the Palms, it has a gorgeous infinity pool that might as well be on the very top of the resort. The 1,200 square foot Wraparound Terrace Suite at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas offers 180 degree panoramic views of the skyline. Maybe you’re a nature lover? If so, the One-Eighty Suite at Red Rock Resort has Strip views along with some of the best Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area views in town. Anyone know any bird calls?
As a high roller
The High Roller at The Linq Promenade is the world’s largest observation wheel. So obviously, it offers some totally awesome Strip views. Oh, did we mention that they have booze, too? The Happy Half Hour package gets you an open bar for the entire 30 minute duration of the rotation. Challenge accepted. In between your quest to drink the bar dry, open your ears a little and you’ll get to hear a little info about the city. Because what’s better than a drunk? A drunk who knows his stuff, that’s what.
An open-top bus
You’re a tourist, why not embrace it? Cruise the entire Las Vegas Strip (or downtown Las Vegas) without having to worry about deal with the traffic. Sitting on the upper deck on an open top sightseeing tour, you’ll be able catch views of some of the town’s most popular sights, crowd free. You might even get lucky and see the show at Bellagio Fountains or Mirage Volcano. Along with the sights, you’ll also get to walk away with some little-known facts courtesy of a knowledgeable tour guide. For example, there once was a woman who took the tour in her wedding dress. The guide said, “Congratulations on your wedding.” The woman answered, “I’m divorced. I just always wear my wedding dress in Vegas. I get better service this way.” Take notes people, this lady is a genius.
Parking garage
Since this is a list of “unique” Vegas views, we thought it only right to give you a bonus addition to the list. Parking garages can be so boring and mundane that you don’t even really think about them, unless you’re pulling your hair out because of those damn parking fees. And who could blame you? Your mind is on ripping down that slot handle or stuffing your face at a celebrity restaurant. But that’s the thing! Because people are so focused on the action inside of the casino, parking garages are basically your oyster. The rooftop of a Vegas parking garage offers some of the best views in town, trust us. But just a heads up: technically, security can kick you out for “loitering,” so keep that in mind when you see the helmet clad security guard roll up.
